Cura Day Hospitals Group Completes Its Largest Acquisition To Date

The Board of Cura Day Hospitals Group is pleased to advise its Shareholders of the acquisition of The Eye Hospital based in Launceston. The acquisition was completed on Tuesday 6th August 2013.

Cura’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr Peter Freeleagus, said, “We are delighted to have The Eye Hospital join the Cura Group. The hospital has an excellent reputation for quality patient care.”

Based in Tasmania’s north, The Eye Hospital provides a range of ophthalmology services and treatments for adult and paediatric patients.

"It is the second specialist ophthalmology hospital for Cura,” said Dr Keith Zabell, Cura’s Chairman. “Over the years The Eye Hospital has maintained its leading position through the introduction of a range of new technologies and surgical techniques for its patients.”

Mr Freeleagus added, “We look forward to continuing to provide a hospital of excellence for Tasmanian residents, and to welcoming the Doctors and staff to the Cura Group.”

With the inclusion of The Eye Hospital Cura Day Hospitals Group now has ten facilities, combining a mix of multidisciplinary facilities and specialist units.
