Cura Day Hospitals Group successfully acquires Glen Iris Private

The Board of Cura Day Hospitals Group is pleased to announce the successful acquisition of Glen Iris Private, a Day Hospital located in Melbourne specialising in Gastroenterology and General and Laparoscopic Surgery.

The acquisition was completed today, the 29th November 2019.

Initially opening in 1985 as Taburn Specialist Medical Centre, the facility was demolished in 2008 and rebuilt to specification. It reopened in 2009 as Glen Iris Private, featuring 2 operating theatres, an underground carpark and lift, and is co-located with consulting suites and pathology.

Cura Day Hospitals Group Chief Executive Officer, Peter Freeleagus, said the acquisition brings into focus the continuing demand for access to quality hospital services in local communities.

“Glen Iris Private is dedicated to providing the highest quality patient care, with a commitment to clinical excellence and safety delivered with personal attention,”

said Mr Freeleagus.

“We are delighted to welcome the Doctors and staff of Glen Iris Private to Cura Day Hospitals Group as our organisation continues its growth trajectory as the largest Day Hospital group in Australia,” he said.

The addition of Glen Iris Private to the organisations’ portfolio represents Cura‘s 4th acquisition in Victoria, and 23rd acquisition nationally.
