The Perth Eye Hospital is a specialist Ophthalmic Day Hospital located in the central location of West Perth. Established over two decades ago the hospital offers a superior service to both patients and surgeons, along with a reputation of best in field for Ophthalmic Surgery.
Our four-theatre hospital has 40 Surgeons over 80 dedicated specialist nurses and administration personnel. We conduct surgery for all anterior and posterior procedures. Perth Eye Hospital is a part of the CURA Day Hospital Group, Australia’s leading provider of day hospital facilities.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Finance Manager to join us on a permanent full-time basis.
The Finance Manager is accountable for overseeing all accounting activities under the direction of the Chief Executive Office (Perth Eye Hospital) and Chief Financial Officer (CURA) and in accordance with the principles of sound financial management and good governance.
About the role:
- Directing and managing the financial operations to provide accurate, timely and cost-effective services.
- Developing and implementing effective accounting procedures which comply with accounting standards and manage finance staff to ensure they meet objectives.
- Accounts payable & receivable processing management
- Payroll processing and management
- Monthly review and maintain integrity of all General Ledger accounts and reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts for relevant facilities
To be successful in your application for this position, you will have:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Strong communications skills; written and verbal
- Demonstrated organisational ability to work within month-end deadlines
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Able to work well autonomously and in a team environment
- A pro-active approach with the capability to adapt to changing priorities
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in general accounting/finance role
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience required
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll processes and principles and understanding of Award interpretations and application
- Proficiency with financial systems and standard software applications
- Highly proficient in Excel (advanced skills)
