About the role:

We are looking for an experienced Health Information Manager to join our group in this newly created position based in Spring Hill, Brisbane. Reporting to the National Revenue Manager, you will responsible for the overall management of the end to end coding process and staff.

The duties of this position will include:

  • The management of the Health Information Service for all facilities
  • Conduct regular auditing on the assignment of the ICD-10AM diagnosis and procedure codes in accordance with the relevant coding standards
  • Assist with the timely extraction and submission of mandatory reporting data including but not limited to Hospital Casemix Protocol (HCP) and Private Hospital Data Bureau (PHDB) data
  • Provide education to facilities to improve clinical documentation to assist coding productivity, data quality and patient care
  • Review, standardise and audit medical record templates for all facilities

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent)
  • To be eligible for membership with the Health Information Management Association of Australia
  • Previous experience within the Private Hospital or Health Fund Industry
  • Clinical coding experience
  • Excellent understanding of Australian Legislation relating to health information
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills
  • Proven numerical problem-solving skills
  • Strong communications skills; written and verbal
  • Demonstrated organisational ability to work within deadlines
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work well in a team and autonomously
