About The Eye Hospital

The Eye Hospital has 2 operating theatres and a procedure room utilizing the latest state-of-the-art specialist ophthalmology equipment, together with a fully equipped first and second stage recovery.

Theatre facilities for procedures requiring general anaesthesia are also performed in the safe and controlled environment of our day hospital as appropriate.

We are seeking Registered Nurses to join our specialized place of work, willing to undertake specialized training with appropriate clinical support.

We are looking for enthusiastic applicants who will deliver a high standard of nursing care to join our team are who reliable and caring.

The Eye Hospital focuses on the provision of high-quality patient care in a safe and caring setting and priorities a positive work/life balance for all staff as a day stay hospital provider for the greater Launceston area.

The Eye Hospital is a leading provider for public and private work for Northern Tasmania in the specialty of ophthalmology, plastics and dentistry.

To be successful in your application for this position, you will have:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent experience
  • Perioperative experience desirable
  • Exceptional clinical skills
  • Ability to communicate with patients, relatives and all members of the health care team.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to safe work practices
  • The ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • An enthusiastic approach in the delivery of high standard of nursing care

Essential criteria

  • Current AHPRA nursing registration
  • Good understanding of Infection Control principles
