About Chermside Day Hospital
Chermside Day Hospital features specialised, purpose-built facilities, high quality equipment, and is self-sufficient. Facilities include state-of-the-art operating theatres and procedure rooms, a spacious Post Anaesthesia Care (Recovery) Unit, comfortable Second Stage recovery room and well-appointed consulting suites. The hospital also features a self-contained sterilizing department and endoscope processing service.
We are seeking an experienced Wardsman for a casual position to provide support to the nursing team to undertake a range of services that supports the well-being of patients, visitors, staff and others.
This position will be based at Chermside Day Hospital in Chermside, Brisbane, however the successful applicant must be willing to work over multiple CURA sites.

Essential criteria
- Previous experience in an Wardsman Service or similar position
- Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling techniques, including patient transfers.
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of surface cleaning practices and techniques including infection
- control
- Demonstrated ability to work in a manner which preserves patient confidentiality and
- Dignity
- Current BLS
- Displays exemplary communication skills
- Displays a willingness & flexible approach to work requirements and change in work practices
- Displays a positive attitude and approach to working as part of a team
- A positive approach to working safely
