Cura Day Hospitals Group Announces Plans to Merge Wagga Endoscopy Centre and Riverina Day Surgery

Following the conclusion of a strategic review, Cura Day Hospitals Group has announced its intention to close Wagga Endoscopy Centre and amalgamate the operations of the facility with Riverina Day Surgery.

The closure and subsequent merge of the two facilities will ensure their ability to improve operational efficiencies and streamline the exceptional patient care that these hospitals are known for.

Chief Executive Officer, Peter Freeleagus, said that the closure will occur over an 8-week period to minimise any disruptions and ensure continuity of care for patients and a smooth transition for Doctors who will thereafter admit their patients to Riverina Day Surgery.

“Riverina Day Surgery is a relatively new and modern day hospital with excellent levels of comfort and services,” Mr Freeleagus said.

“These aspects, combined with its close location to Wagga Endoscopy Centre, will ensure the patient experience remains of the highest quality.”

“I would like to personally thank the Doctors and Staff of Wagga Endoscopy Centre. The success of Wagga Endoscopy Centre over the years is a testament to their dedication and professionalism,” he said.

The last day of operations will be 29th November 2019, however the consulting rooms will remain open for appointments at Best Street. Cura Day Hospitals Group is assessing potential redeployment opportunities of the existing Wagga Endoscopy Centre staff into other, vacant positions across Cura – particularly within Riverina Day Surgery located close by.

Riverina Day Surgery currently offers Gastroenterology as a specialty in addition to a range of other specialist surgical services including General Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmic, Oculoplastic, ENT, IVF, Oral & Maxillofacial, Orthopaedic, Plastic / Reconstructive, and Paediatric.
