The development of Noosa Day Hospital is progressing well, with the project on track for completion in August ahead of its planned opening in September 2026.
The new facility will strengthen access to high-quality day surgery services for residents of Noosa and the surrounding region. It will also contribute to the creation of approximately 60 local jobs and further strengthen Cura Day Hospitals Group’s presence in the region alongside Kawana Private Hospital and Sunshine Coast Day Surgery.
Noosa Day Hospital will feature three fully integrated operating theatres, supporting a broad range of specialties, including Ophthalmology, Gastroenterology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Breast Surgery, MOHS Surgery, General Surgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and Pain Management.
The hospital’s location provides seamless connectivity to consulting suites and other allied health services, including Sunshine Coast Eye and Retina Ophthalmologist Dr Warren Apel, supporting a well-coordinated patient journey from consultation through to surgery and recovery.
Patients, Doctors and staff will benefit from a contemporary and accessible environment, with ample free parking and proximity to local amenities and a reception and waiting area designed to prioritise comfort and functionality.

Internal fit-out is now well underway across the facility with the project now moving into final stages. Wall sheeting has been completed throughout all zones, establishing the hospital’s internal layout, with wall and ceiling painting progressing in key clinical areas including theatres and recovery. Floor preparation works are advancing, with vinyl installation underway across multiple zones. Joinery installation has commenced in early-stage clinical areas, signalling the transition into final finishes.
Planning for accreditation, quality and licensing is progressing in parallel with construction. Cura has appointed the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards as the accrediting body, with licensing processes underway and site inspections being scheduled. Policies and systems are being developed in alignment with The National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, ensuring readiness for the safe commencement of clinical services.
The hospital will be equipped with advanced clinical technology to support precision, efficiency and positive patient outcomes across all specialties. Commissioning activities will continue through July and August as the project moves toward practical completion.
Further updates will be shared as Noosa Day Hospital approaches opening, marking an important milestone in Cura’s ongoing expansion and its commitment to enhancing access to day surgery services for the local community.
