The Cura Day Hospitals Group today announced its acquisition of Brisbane-based Eye-Tech Day Surgeries.
The move bolsters the Group’s mix of multidisciplinary facilities and specialist units to 13 Australian day hospitals. It also increases its ophthalmological offerings and complements its acquisition of Kawana Private Hospital, Queensland Eye Hospital, the Eye Hospital in Launceston and Victoria Parade Surgery Centre in Melbourne in the last two years.
Eye-Tech Day Surgeries is a significant addition to the Cura Day Hospitals Group portfolio, according to the Group’s CEO Peter Freeleagus.
“This acquisition strengthens the extensive ophthalmological services we already offer to Queensland patients and provides an attractive suburban alternative for surgery,” said Mr Freeleagus.
“In line with our existing hospitals and day surgeries, Eye-Tech’s facilities are well established and equipped with the latest technologies and its ophthalmologists are committed to delivering quality patient care,” he said.
Eye-Tech Day Surgeries operates two surgical facilities in Brisbane, located in Spring Hill and Upper Mount Gravatt. More than 30 ophthalmologists use the facilities, to provide services to patients from across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Toowoomba and regional Queensland.
Peter Freeleagus together with Henry Barclay, Director of Cura Day Hospitals Group, and the Cura team expressed their appreciation for the work done by Dr Kevin Vandeleur and Ms Anne Crouch, CEO and Director of Nursing of Eye-Tech Day Surgeries for their assistance in bringing the transaction to a successful conclusion.
“Cura is looking forward to working with the Eye-Tech team”, said Mr Freeleagus.
