We are pleased to confirm that Cura Day Hospitals Group Pty Ltd (“Cura”) has signed a binding offer to acquire PresMed Holdings Pty Ltd (“PresMed”).
On completion, this transaction will offer new growth opportunities for both organisations, creating a combined network of 36 facilities across Australia, and ensuring resilience in an increasingly competitive industry.
PresMed was established in 1997 and specialises in the establishment and management of surgical day hospitals in partnership with Surgeons.
The group consists of seven day hospitals, five in New South Wales and one each in the Australian Capital Territory and Tasmania. It also features one consulting practice located in New South Wales.
Peter Freeleagus, Chief Executive Officer of Cura Day Hospitals Group, said that patients would benefit from improved care options and a wider range of facilities.
“Our patients remain our top priority, and this acquisition allows us to better serve them with expanded offerings while maintaining our high standards of care and service,” he said.
For employees, the larger, more diverse network will present enhanced career development opportunities, including leadership roles and professional growth pathways.
“This positions Cura as an attractive employer for top talent, with a broader national presence and increased market leadership,” Mr Freeleagus added.
Dr Keith Zabell, Chairperson, said the acquisition was an exciting development for the company, noting that Doctors would also benefit from a more extensive hospital group.
“Our Doctors will now have greater opportunities to collaborate with Cura as well as access to a wider choice of facilities and technologically advanced equipment,” he said.
“We extend a very warm welcome to all the PresMed Doctors and staff who will be joining our Group,” Dr Zabell added.
