Victoria Parade Surgery Centre Celebrates 20 Years of Care

Victoria Parade Surgery Centre staff and doctors celebrate the facility's 20-year milestone during a special anniversary lunch recognising two decades of service, growth and patient care.

Victoria Parade Surgery Centre (VPSC) marked a major milestone last week, celebrating 20 years of delivering exceptional patient care and surgical services to the Melbourne community.

Staff and Doctors came together for a special anniversary lunch on Wednesday 26th August 2026 to recognise two decades of achievement and growth.

Since opening its doors in 2006, VPSC has established itself as a leading specialist day hospital, providing a broad range of surgical services including Ophthalmology, Oculoplastic and Ear, Nose and Throat surgery.

Designed to deliver the highest standards of quality and safety, the facility features five operating theatres equipped with state-of-the-art technology, a five-bed first-stage recovery unit and a 10-chair second-stage recovery unit.

In December 2013, VPSC became part of the Cura Day Hospitals Group, enabling the Centre to continue building on its strong reputation for excellence while remaining focused on providing high-quality, patient-centred care.

CEO and Director of Nursing Lisa Wilson said the anniversary was an opportunity to celebrate the people who have contributed to the Centre’s success over the past two decades.

"Reaching 20 years is a remarkable achievement and a testament to the dedication of our staff and Doctors who have helped shape VPSC into the trusted facility it is today," Ms Wilson said.

“For two decades, we have remained focused on providing safe, high-quality care to our patients. We are incredibly proud of what has been accomplished and grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.”

A highlight of the celebrations was the recognition of staff members who have worked at VPSC since its earliest days. Their loyalty, experience and commitment have played an important role in the Centre’s growth and success.

Staff celebrating 20 years of service include:
  • Marie Rivadillo, CSSD
  • Myra Calara, CSSD
  • Joanne Hellard, Administration
  • Raelene McCool, Scrub/Scout Nurse
  • Litsa Acatos, Administration
  • Mei Wei Cui, Scrub/Scout Nurse

Ms Wilson said the long tenure of these team members reflects the strong culture and supportive environment that has been built over many years.

“Our people are at the heart of everything we do. To have team members who have dedicated 20 years of service to us is an extraordinary achievement and one we are incredibly proud to recognise,” she said.

“Their knowledge, professionalism and commitment to patient care have helped establish the culture that defines VPSC today.”

As VPSC celebrates this important milestone, the team looks forward to building on its proud history and ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care for many years to come.
