Cura Day Hospitals Group (Cura) is pleased to announce the development of a new purpose-built facility, Noosa Day Hospital, which will expand access to high-quality day surgery services for patients across the Sunshine Coast region.
The new multidisciplinary hospital will feature three state-of-the-art operating theatres, equipped with the latest surgical technology and supported by modern recovery and patient care areas. The facility will support a broad range of surgical specialties including Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Breast Surgery, and Endocrine Surgery.
Noosa Day Hospital has been developed in close consultation with Surgeons to ensure it meets the needs of both patients and Doctors.
Cura Day Hospitals Group Chief Executive Officer, Peter Freeleagus, said the new development reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to investing in sustainable, high-quality hospitals in areas of growing demand.
“This greenfield development has been carefully designed in collaboration with leading Surgeons and developers to ensure it meets the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and comfort for patients, Doctors and staff,” he said.
The hospital is located within the Noosa Health Precinct which also has established consulting suites for Specialists and allied health professionals, creating a centralised hub for surgical and pre- and post-operative care. Centrally positioned in a growing commercial hub, the hospital will also offer ample free parking, a patient drop-off zone, and dedicated ambulance bays, ensuring ease of access for patients, staff and Doctors.
Noosa Day Hospital is scheduled to open in early 2026, with construction set to begin in the coming months. The hospital is expected to generate approximately 60 new jobs across clinical, administrative, and support roles.
Surgeons and staff interested in opportunities at Noosa Day Hospital are encouraged to contact Kaylene Elliott, National Hospitals Operations Manager at [email protected] for further information.
Noosa Day Hospital is the latest addition to Cura’s national network of 38 hospitals, further strengthening its ability to deliver accessible, patient-centred care. It also expands the Group’s presence in the Sunshine Coast Region where it owns and operates two other facilities – Kawana Private Hospital and Sunshine Coast Day Surgery.
